Matt Webb collaborates with Playhouse on the Square

In his first collaboration with Playhouse on the Square, Memphis' professional regional theatre, MSU Assistant Clinical Professor Matt Webb has created the lighting for The Scottsboro Boys, a vaudeville-style musical retelling of the landmark trial of nine falsely accused black teenagers that gave way for the Civil Rights movement.

Matt Webb creates lighting design for The Nutcracker

Assistant Clinical Professor Matt Webb recently created a new lighting design for an established production of The Nutcracker, seen by over 2000 patrons over a two-day period and featuring soloists from Houston Ballet and New York City Ballet.

Matt Webb designs lighting for Arkansas Repertory Theatre

Assistant Clinical Professor Matt Webb created the lighting for Arkansas Repertory Theatre's new production of Broadway and regional staple Guys and Dolls, which reviewers at broadwayworld.com called "Broadway level entertainment" and the Arkansas Democract-Gazette called "a sure bet."

Janelle Finley Adams

Janelle Finley Adams received her Bachelor of Arts in communication with a concentration in public relations in 2009 from Mississippi State University. In 2010, Adams continued her education at Mississippi State and earned her Master of Science in kinesiology with a sports administration concentration. Adams grew up in Mobile, Ala., and after receiving her degrees, she returned to Mobile and now works as a communications manager for Business Area Americas with Outokumpu Stainless.

Brandon Adam Roten received his Bachelor of Arts in communication with a concentration in broadcasting in 2003 from Mississippi State University. Roten grew up in Olive Branch, Miss., and after receiving his degree, he moved to Hernando, Miss., where he works as a freelance editor with clients across the country.

Allyn Wamble received her Bachelor of Arts in communication with a concentration in theatre in 2015 from Mississippi State University. Wamble grew up in West Point, Miss., and after receiving her degree, she moved to New York City to work as a casting associate at Grant Wilfley Casting in Manhattan.

DeAvalon Holman

DeAvalon Holman is a senior communication major from Southaven, Miss., majoring in communication with a concentration in communication & media studies. Holman is involved in the Student Honor Code Council, the Student Conduct Board, and the Student Tickets Appeal Board. He served as a 2020 Orientation Leader and is an intern at the MSU Speaking Center. In the future, Holman plans to get a master’s in higher education with a focus in student affairs.

Reagan Young is a senior communication major from Chelsea, Ala., majoring in communication with a concentration in public relations. Young is involved in Chi Omega sorority and Brickfire Project Mentoring Program. In the future, she plans on teaching English abroad after graduation. Her dream after teaching abroad would be to travel the world, write stories about the people she gets the privilege to meet, take pictures of the places she gets to travel, and be led by the Lord through it all!

Thurman is involved in Roadrunners and Hail State Productions. In the future, he hopes to stay in the production world and combine that with ministry. He loves all things lighting and sound and wants to use his gifts to impact students and show them what it's like to have a personal relationship with Jesus.
