The Department of Communication assigns an individual CO faculty advisor to upperclassmen. Freshmen and sophomores are advised by our department's academic advising coordinator either in an individual session or in a group session.

Our department encourages all communication majors to complete internships prior to graduating to gain real world experience in their future career fields and to develop skills that will make them more attractive to prospective employers.

Scholarships

Departmental scholarships are offered to majors in all areas of the department, including incoming freshmen and transfer students. Recipients must be enrolled at MSU when scholarships are distributed, and the minimum GPA required to apply for a Communication scholarship is a 3.0.
