Why communication?
In high school, I went to a communication conference and that’s when I really nailed down that I loved communication. I really wanted to know how to talk to people and interact with people. I wanted to know the thoughts behind communications and why we talk in certain ways and why we write in certain ways.

Best memory in the Department?
All the times in The Reflector office when we are trying to grind out a paper. We always have good times in the office and are always chit-chatting.

Advice for incoming communication students?
Don’t give up and change your major to something else just because you might not like your beginning classes.

Best advice you’ve received from a professor?
I haven’t received a specific piece of advice, but probably in Dr. Poe’s class when he tells us to just stick with our story and not to give up.

Favorite class?
Intro to News Writing and Reporting with Dr. Poe and Photographic Communication with Professor Josh Foreman

If you were singing karaoke, what song would you pick to sing?
Any song by Taylor Swift. I wouldn’t give like a big performance, but I would want to get the crowd hype because when I listen to Taylor Swift songs I get hype.

What’s the most interesting thing that you’ve read, watched or listened to lately?
I recently read a book called Tattoo: Journeys On My Mind by Tine Marie L. Lamb. It was a travel memoir and she traveled everywhere, and it was really cool because she was a solo female traveler.

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with that extra time?
I would probably read more - I love to read. I would probably work on assignments and just like chill.
