Chase Crawford

Chase Crawford is a senior communication major from Madison, Miss., majoring in communication with a concentration in broadcast & digital journalism. Crawford currently works with MSU’s Athletic Creative Video. In the future, Crawford plans to stay in athletics creative video after he graduates and one day run his own creative department.
Crawford was nominated by his professor Chris Misun, who said, “Since arriving at MSU, Chase has immersed himself in becoming a better student, and video producer. His skills are displayed through his work with HailState Creative Video in athletics, and in the classroom he continues his strong work ethic into solo and team projects. His skills and personality make him a great group leader.”
Why did you choose communication?
I felt like communication was the best path for me to further my dream of working in sports media.
Best memory in the Department?
Building friendships and relationships with the incredible people of our department.
Advice for incoming communication students?
Don't be afraid to take risks and do things outside of your comfort zone. You will never know how good you can be at something until you try.
Best advice you’ve received from a professor?
Don't be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them.
Favorite class?
Photographic Communication
If you were singing karaoke, what song would you pick to sing?
Life is a Highway because I loved the movie Cars growing up and this was the best song from the soundtrack.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
Crawfish for sure. I mean it's only fitting for someone with the last name Crawford right?!
What’s the most interesting thing that you’ve read, watched, or listened to lately?
Nothing super interesting but my girlfriend and I have been binge watching The Goldbergs lately.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with that extra time?
I love to travel so I would probably go as many places around the world as I could if I had the extra time.
