Two CMST faculty members win MCA awards

Two Communication faculty members were recognized for teaching and research excellence at the annual Mississippi Communication Association Conference.
Gil Carter, assistant professor in Communication & Media Studies, earned Top Faculty Paper for, “An Exemplary Public Servant”: How the “Moderate” Susan Collins Used Ethos to Defend Brett Kavanaugh and Undo Abortion Right.
Carrie McCormick, an instructor in Communication & Media Studies earned the Top G.I.F.T.S (Great Ideas for Teaching Speech) honor for her presentation, “Building a Bridge – Actually and Metaphorically.”
McCormick was also named 2nd Vice President of MCA.
The conference took place February 7 at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.
