Dr. Larry Strout earns Master of Arts in Legal Studies
Dr. Larry Strout recently received a Master of Arts degree in Legal Studies from the University of Illinois-Springfield. Strout decided to go back to school part-time in the fall of 2018 to obtain a formal education in law. He has had a long-time interest and has taught mass media law for over a decade. Among the courses he completed in the M.A. program were SCOTUS and Judicial Politics, Public Advocacy, Law and Inequality and Seminar in Politics and Law.
Strout has a Ph.D. in Communication from Florida State University (1997) and an M.A. in Public Affairs Reporting from The Ohio State University (1990). Strout came to Mississippi State University in 2007 as an associate professor. Before entering academia, he worked 14 years in news and sports reporting for public and commercial broadcasting stations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Washington and Oklahoma.
