Why communication?
I believe that communication is so fundamental to the human experience, and I love learning more about it and how we use it every day. There's so much creativity that's involved with it as well; sharing other people's stories, helping people understand each other, and disseminating important information have all appealed to me since I can remember. I never question that the communication field is where I'm supposed to be.

Any internships?
I am currently interning at the Student Affairs office as a marketing/communication intern. Here, I run all our Student Affairs social media accounts, am president and co-founder of our marketing/public relations/social media organization The Connection, and produce the Vice President of Student Affairs’ podcast, The Positive Sip.

Advice for incoming communication students?
Take classes outside of your concentration and try new things! Get involved in extracurricular organizations and never, ever doubt your abilities or yourself. You never know what opportunities will come your way in college by putting yourself out there, and you can’t even imagine all the amazing things you’ll accomplish while you’re here at Mississippi State.

Best advice you’ve received from a professor?
Learn what you like and don't like by action; constantly try new things and follow your passions and you'll never end up doing something you don't love.

Best memory in the Department of Communication?
My favorite memory was performing my original songs at the New Narrative Festival & Conference my freshman year.

What’s the most interesting thing that you’ve read, watched or listened to lately?
I really enjoyed watching season 3 of You!

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Hmmm… probably chicken nuggets or a meal from Slim Chickens! You can’t go wrong with that!

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with that extra time?
I would write songs and get better at recording and producing music on my own, or maybe consistently work out (haha)!
